VHF's are the best type of communication device to be used while kayaking. Unlike a cell phone that broadcast person to person, a VHF will broadcast to many people listening on the channel you have selected, (including the coast guard).
Important message. The user of a VHF device must have a current VHF license and call sign. You must attend a coast guard VHF course.
