Ocean Kayak Boat Care

All Ocean Kayak models are made from linear low-density polyethylene - that means plastic! - and that makes your Ocean Kayak tough, strong and virtually indestructible when in use. Our moulded in inserts stop any water leakage through accessory attachment points. Here are some tips to help you look after your kayak:

Maintainence
Rinse off after use and empty any water from the interior by releasing the bow drain plug and turning the boat upside down to drain.

Storage
Ocean Kayaks have ultra violet stabilizers blended into the material to protect them from sunlight. But to extend the life span of your Ocean Kayak, avoid storing in direct sunlight.

Kayaks should be stored on edge, upside down, standing or hanging horizontally. When hanging the boat, run wide straps around the boat near the cockpit. A word of caution - using the scupper holes may cause distortion and hanging from the handles may put undue strain on them.

Repairs
The linear polyethylene used in our kayaks is repairable, contact your local Ocean Kayak dealer for more information.

Warranty
Ocean Kayaks are guaranteed to be free of defects in workmanship and material for one year from the date of original purchase. This warranty is unconditional under normal use. Should you experience a failure please contact your local dealer, they will ensure that the product is repaired, replaced or refunded at the manufacturer's discretion - and have you back on the water in no time!
